Rinjani National Park area is lied over 3 districts of Lombok Island,<br />
West Lombok, East Lombok and Central Lombok. Gunung Rinjani is<br />
Indonesia’s second highest peak (3,726m). For the people of Lombok,<br />
Sasak (adat Wettu Telu) and Balinese alike, the volcano is revered as<br />
sacred place and the abode of gods. Within the spectacular crater, the<br />
Segara Anak Lake is the destination of many pilgrims who place<br />
offerings in the water and bathe away disease in the nearby hot<br />
springs. In the middle of Segara Anak Lake gently standing an active<br />
volcano called Gunung Baru Jari = (new formed mount) last erupting 1994.<br />
<b> How to reach Gunung Rinjani:</b></p>
<p>There are two options starting point base to reach Gunung Rinjani:<br />
• Senaru (601m) is a village, located at slopes of Mount Rinjani<br />
stretches up a hillside spur along a winding road above Bayan. It is a<br />
scenic 2.5 hours drive from Mataram.<br />
• Sembalun Lawang (1,156m) is a place belongs to East Lombok District<br />
on the foot of Mt. Rinjani and very picturesque also a promise of<br />
spectacular scenery, known as best way to reach peak of Mount Rinjani.<br />
It takes 3, 5 hours drive from Mataram</p>
<p><b>Walking Hours &amp; Trails Condition:</b></p>
<p><b>SENARU – SEGARA ANAK LAKE – PEAK</b><br />
•	Senarau – Mondokan Lolak (2,000m) = 4 Hrs: Gentle walk<br />
•	Mondokan Lolak – Pelawangan Senaru (2,641M) = 2 Hrs: Hard climb<br />
•	Pelawangan Senaru – Lake (2,000m) = 2 Hrs: Extreme Steepy &amp; rocky trails – going down.<br />
•	Lake – Pelawangan Sembalun (2,639m) = 3 Hrs: Extreme steepy &amp; rocky trails<br />
•	Pelawangan Sembalun – Peak (3,726) = 3 Hrs: rocky &amp; sandy surface – slow walk</p>
<p><b>SEMBALUN LAWANG – PEAK</b><br />
•	Sembalun Lawang – Pada Balong (1,800m) = 4,5 Hrs: Gentle walk<br />
•	Pada Balong – Pelawangan Sembalun (2,639m) = Hard trails<br />
•	Pelawangan sembalun – Peak (3,726m) = 3 Hrs: Extreme steepy &amp; rocky trails</p>
<p><b> What to See:</b></p>
<p>• Sendang Gila waterfall in Senaru, Traditional Village (Senaru and<br />
Sembalun), Lake Segara Anak, Mount Baru Jari (new formed mount) and Hot<br />
spring.<br />
•	Wildlife: Monkey (Long-tailed macaques, Silver Leaf and black monkey), Koau Kiau, White Cockatoo, Eagle, Elk etc<br />
•	Trees: Cemara Trees, Aloe Trees, Eidelweiss, orchid etc.</p>
