Mount Rinjani General Description

Gunung Rinjani was designated National Park by Ministry of Forestry
on May 23, 1997 covering area of 41,330 hectares. National Park, Gunung
Rinjani National Park area is lied over 3 districts of Lombok Island,
West Lombok, East Lombok and Central Lombok. Gunung Rinjani is
Indonesia’s second highest peak (3,726m). For the people of Lombok,
Sasak (adat Wettu Telu) and Balinese alike, the volcano is revered as
sacred place and the abode of gods. Within the spectacular crater, the
Segara Anak Lake is the destination of many pilgrims who place
offerings in the water and bathe away disease in the nearby hot
springs. In the middle of Segara Anak Lake gently standing an active
volcano called Gunung Baru Jari = (new formed mount) last erupting 1994.
How to reach Gunung Rinjani:

There are two options starting point base to reach Gunung Rinjani:
• Senaru (601m) is a village, located at slopes of Mount Rinjani
stretches up a hillside spur along a winding road above Bayan. It is a
scenic 2.5 hours drive from Mataram.
• Sembalun Lawang (1,156m) is a place belongs to East Lombok District
on the foot of Mt. Rinjani and very picturesque also a promise of
spectacular scenery, known as best way to reach peak of Mount Rinjani.
It takes 3, 5 hours drive from Mataram

Walking Hours & Trails Condition:

SENARU – SEGARA ANAK LAKE – PEAK
• Senarau – Mondokan Lolak (2,000m) = 4 Hrs: Gentle walk
• Mondokan Lolak – Pelawangan Senaru (2,641M) = 2 Hrs: Hard climb
• Pelawangan Senaru – Lake (2,000m) = 2 Hrs: Extreme Steepy & rocky trails – going down.
• Lake – Pelawangan Sembalun (2,639m) = 3 Hrs: Extreme steepy & rocky trails
• Pelawangan Sembalun – Peak (3,726) = 3 Hrs: rocky & sandy surface – slow walk

SEMBALUN LAWANG – PEAK
• Sembalun Lawang – Pada Balong (1,800m) = 4,5 Hrs: Gentle walk
• Pada Balong – Pelawangan Sembalun (2,639m) = Hard trails
• Pelawangan sembalun – Peak (3,726m) = 3 Hrs: Extreme steepy & rocky trails

What to See:

• Sendang Gila waterfall in Senaru, Traditional Village (Senaru and
Sembalun), Lake Segara Anak, Mount Baru Jari (new formed mount) and Hot
spring.
• Wildlife: Monkey (Long-tailed macaques, Silver Leaf and black monkey), Koau Kiau, White Cockatoo, Eagle, Elk etc
• Trees: Cemara Trees, Aloe Trees, Eidelweiss, orchid etc.

Day 01: SENGGIGI AREA – SENARU VILLAGE (L, D)

From hotel in Senggigi Area start the tour to visit GUNUNGSARI morning market, PUSUK preservation and monkey forest to see Batu Beleq Temple in the forest, GANGGA Waterfalls, proceeded to SEGENTER traditional village and finally arrive at SENARU village.

Day 02: SENARU VILLAGE – GOLONG (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel, walking dawn to SENDANGGILE waterfalls, and then proceeded to BAYAN BELEQ to see an oldest mosque on the island, SEMBALUN valley and villages located on the foot of Mt. Rinjani, down to SAPIT rice terrace and village, PENAKAK pottery village, PRINGGASELA hand weaving village, TETEBATU Village and LOYOK bamboo craft centre and continued to GOLONG.

Day 03: GOLONG – KUTA (B, L, D)

After breakfast at hotel, drive to SEDAU Valley for beautiful rice field view, NARMADA Kingly Garden, KUMBUNG Village to see Villagers making tiled roof or and breaks in traditional ways, SUKARARA hand weaving Village, RAMBITAN Traditional Sasak Tribe Village, and TANJUNG A’AN white sandy beach.

Day 04: KUTA – SENGGIGI AREA (B, L)

After breakfast at hotel, tour direct drive to TAWUN Village for catching an outrigger boat to GILI (Small Island) NANGGU located in the west point of Lombok Island for swimming and snorkeling on clear sea water over beautiful under sea garden. Transferred to hotel in Senggigi Area.

DAY 01 : JAYAPURA ARRIVAL (D)
Arrive at Sentani airport, you will be meet by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Dinner at local restaurant.
DAY 02 : JAYAPURA – WAMENA PUGIMA – ANELAGAK (B/L/D)

Early transfer to Sentani Airport for short flight to Wamena. Arrive at Wamena direct visit local market of Wamena and transfer to Wesaput village, crossing to Baliem Rivers thru the hanging bridge then start your adventure, walk to Pugima to explore the Dani village and their community of life and continue to Anelagak for dinner and overnight stay at DAI HUTS.

DAY 03 : ANELAGAK SUROBS – DOGUM – JIWIKA (B/L/D)
After breakfast continue your adventure with all the porter walk to Suroba village then proceed to Dogum to see feast and Etae dance performed by native dinner and overnight at Dogum or Lauk inn at Jiwika.

DAY 04 : JIWIKA SALTIME KONTILOLA CAVE WAMENA (B/L/D)
Early breakfast then climb the Mili mountain, visit Saltime to see how the Dani women make salt in primitive way. Down to Jiwika proceed to Sumpaima village to see the old mummy then to Kontilola cave at Waga-Waga. After lunch back to Wamena by vehicle, check in at hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 05: WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B/L/D)

After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure by flight to Jayapura arrive at Sentani airport direct sightseeing visit the MC.ARTHUR war memorial, cendrawasih museum, crocodile farm, Hamadi beach, then stop for lunch at Hawai restaurant and check in at hotel free leisure. Evening farewell dinner at jaya grill restaurant.

DAY 06: DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure to your next destination.
